	Native Seeress: Woman of Magic Kah-tay, a Native American, is gifted with the power to heal. Expelled from the Home by the Elders, she is accompanied by Raven, her bird/protector and lifelong companion. Using mind-speak, Kah-tay convinces Clayfoot of the Horse People to help her fight Wa-Ha-Na the Evil One who wants her unborn daughter. Branded a coward by his people and burning with passion for this woman of magic, Clayfoot agrees to help. After Alua-Te-Te is born, the child is stolen by Ironskin, Clayfoot's infamous brother, who has given himself over to the Evil One. Battling time and sinister Shapings, Kah-tay and Clayfoot confront Dark Forest as they search for her daughter.
